About Us

The Band of brothers started in 2004 as a small group of men meeting at a home in Bellingham, WA.   Raul Chavez realized that one way to a man's heart was through his stomach!  By sharing a meal, then getting into the word, this group of men drew closer and closer.  Four years later, this ministry has grown to well over 100 men gathering together on any given Tuesday night, doing the hard work of being accountable to each other. Over 400 are on our Band of Brothers Rosters!   We meet Tuesday nights starting at 6 pm at Christ The King Church at Meridian and Bakerview in Bellingham, and we encourage you to join us.

The ministry is non-denominational and its members come from multiple churches throughout Whatcom County, Wa.  The platform is simple.  Get fed twice, once with a meal and then fed by the word of God. This growing men's group features an inspiring guest speaker each Tuesday night after dinner.

Mission Statement:

Each week we will work to draw together a growing number of men to a "safe" place where they are neither judged nor condemned, but instead are greeted with love, acceptance, and encouragement. We will work to establish a feeling of brotherhood and fellowship so that no man feels alone.

We will provide weekly bible-based teachings designed to reveal God's love to each man. We will instruct men on how to be strong and compassionate spiritual leaders in their homes and places of work, and to challenge each man to grow in obedience to God, which will lead to a life of joy and peace.

People are talking about this ministry. In a time when it is so hard to gather the men of God together in any consistent way, God has seen fit to see our numbers growing……every week. We believe that God has called us to be better husbands, better fathers, better bosses and workers, and more importantly, better followers of Christ's example in this world.

In January 2009, the Band of Brothers became an official nonprofit charity through Oasis International Ministries.  Oasis is the vision that will ultimately serve men in dynamic ways with Band of Brothers being just one of the exciting ministries that we feel God is leading us to plant.   More information about the Oasis International Ministries is available at www.oasisim.org .
